The Counseling Department at Bradley Elementary School is concerned with the entire student. The philosophy of the Counseling department is to assist students in personal growth through the development of educational planning, self-awareness, goal setting, decision making, implementation of career plans and the evaluation of personal and career goals.
School counselors are student advocates who work cooperatively with other individuals and organizations to promote the development of our students. School counselors consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to assist students to be successful academically, vocationally and personally.
Ms. Wilhelm has been a school counselor for 22 years. The past 9 years have been in Asbury Park. Prior to working in Asbury Park Ms. Wilhelm was a counselor in Lakewood, N.J. for 13 years. She serves as the chair-person for the I&RS Committee, assists with testing, coordinates student recognition and award assemblies, enrolls and distributes the BackPack Program and volunteers with the Girl Scouts. Ms. Wilhelm has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Seton Hall University and a Master's Degree from Montclair State University. She has also completed 39 additional graduate credits. Ms. Wilhelm is proud to be a school counselor and is devoted to helping children to be happy, resilient and successful!
